Web Services data provider Xignite has integrated Nasdaq's Nasdaq Basic low-cost market data solution into its market data cloud, to provide more affordable access to real-time data on US-listed securities.
The data includes real-time best bid and offer and last sale data for all US exchange-traded stocks based on liquidity on Nasdaq and trades reported to the trade reporting facility operated jointly by Nasdaq and regulator FINRA.
"A lot of the feed and fee structures for equity market data in the US markets were designed in the 1990s, when 99 percent of real-time data was delivered to professionals via terminals. Times have changed. Real-time market data is now consumed by pros and individuals alike on billions of devices worldwide. Old models do not fit the needs of those users. Nasdaq has taken an innovative approach to making its data easier and more affordable to integrate and consume inside the next generation of fintech applications. It... made sense to provide this data on our cloud platform," says Xignite founder and chief executive Stephane Dubois.
