Xignite Adds Morningstar Global Funds Data

The new global fund dataset expands an existing deal for Morningstar's US funds content.

San Mateo-based web services data provider Xignite has added global funds data from Chicago-based data and investment research provider Morningstar to its Market Data Cloud platform, and has rolled out a new API for accessing the data, dubbed XigniteGlobalFundsFundamentals, to its existing suite of 45 APIs.

Xignite previously carried Morningstar's US funds data, but the expanded dataset now includes on-demand access to global data points, including credit quality, risk statistics, strategy, top holdings, asset allocations, and sector weightings for more than 290,000 mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, open-ended and closed-end funds, variable annuities, separate account/collective investment trusts,...
