Xignite Appoints Joel York as Chief Marketing Officer

October 29, 2008

SAN MATEO, CA October 29, 2008--Xignite, Inc., a leading cloud computing provider of on-demand financial web services for mission-critical applications, announced today that Joel York has joined the executive team as chief marketing officer. A proven leader with more than 15 years of experience bringing business-to-business (B2B) software and software-as-a-service (SaaS) products to market, York will be instrumental in developing business strategy and marketing programs to accelerate Xignite’s rapid growth.

"Xignite doubled revenue in the last 12 months and we're putting in place the organizational foundation to improve that rate of growth," said Stephane Dubois, CEO and founder of Xignite. "Joel's expertise and energetic passion for cloud computing and SaaS will make him an invaluable member of the Xignite team."

An early mover in the cloud computing arena, Xignite has more than 400 customers worldwide on its web services platform and serves more than one billion service requests annually. York joins the company in the midst of record-setting growth and a recent string of unique new product introductions. Earlier this year the company launched Splice, the first on-demand web services mashup platform to enable drag-and-drop integration of composite web services.

"Xignite is the established leader in enterprise-class web services for financial market data and applications. As cloud computing takes off, Xignite is uniquely positioned for rapid growth," said York. "I'm very excited about joining this great team of entrepreneurs and having the opportunity to help take the company to the next level."

York joins Xignite from the SaaS strategy and marketing consulting firm, Affinitos, where he worked with rapidly growing B2B Web 2.0 clients such as Conduit and Zendesk. At Conduit, the inventor of a community toolbar platform that delivers content to more than 38 million users, York served as interim vice president of marketing and led the establishment of US operations for the global company including worldwide product marketing, social media marketing and public relations. While in this role, York expanded Conduit's market vision from a community toolbar platform to a total website syndication solution for web publishers.

Previously, York served in senior management positions at Navis, SPSS [NASDAQ:SPSS] and Passlogix. He holds a BS from Caltech and an MBA from the University of Chicago and has managed global sales and marketing organizations serving over 50 countries, including local operations in the US, UK, Germany, Israel and India. His experience ranges from $50 SaaS subscriptions to $5M enterprise deals and he shares his expertise on SaaS, cloud computing and Web 2.0 business strategy on his blog at www.chaotic-flow.com.
